*HONORABLE MENTION 2006 NFA. Firestorm is a short but intense piece for four flutes, which depicts a ferocious tempest of fire. It uses double-tonguing and chromaticism to incant a swirl of blistering flames, fueled by tumultuous gales of wind. Firestorm is a lot of fun to play, but can be quite a workout! Difficulty: Advanced high school student or higher.
