Telemann's superb duets for two flutes, opus 2, are arranged for C flute and alto flute. The alto plays both the bottom part and, in a second section, plays the top part. Telemann's range (D1-E3) lies very comfortably on the alto. The C flute, now transposed down a forth, plays in many new interesting ranges and keys. The lowered C flute blends beautifully with the alto.
