O bell' alma, which means "beautiful soul", is a brilliant paraphrase in 19th-century style of one of the keystones of bel canto. This virtuoso duet captures the essence of the drama while preserving the lyric intensity of Donizetti’s score. The harp cadenza and Mad Scene for flute are featured, making it essential study material for those learning the operatic literature.
